Features & Benefits

CASE Ingredients Features
Product Features
  • Afcona-2722 produces rapid de-aeration and defoaming of solvent-free epoxy, polyurethane and some UPE systems. The combination of silicone and non-silicone polymers allows it to act in both capacities: the silicone part is responsible for de-aeration and the non-silicone part provides the anti-foam and defoaming.
  • Afcona-2722 also acts as a leveling agent, giving a smooth surface to the coating.
  • In epoxy coatings, combining this product with Afcona – 2038 will increase the defoaming performance tremendously.

Product Applications

Afcona – 2722 is recommended for:

  • Solvent-free as well as solvent-containing 2 pack epoxies.
  • Solvent-free or High-build polyurethane systems.
  • Unsaturated polyesters.
Addition and Dosage

Afcona-2722 may be added at 0.5 - 1.5% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, it is sufficient to use 1.0% for solvent-free systems and 0.5% for solvent-based systems, based on total formulation. For extreme cases, a combination of Afcona – 2722 and Afcona – 2038 at 1% each will solve most foam problems.

Afcona-2722 may be incorporated prior to processing. If added subsequently, good distribution must be ensured.
