- Industrial Additives Features
- Product Highlights
- Reduces the water absorption of mineral wool insulation, thus improving their performance characteristics;
- To prevent the formation of fine dust during fibreglass or mineral wool production it is recommended to use the emulsion SE 50-12P mixed with the emulsion OE 50-42;
- The mixture of emulsions OE 50-42 and SE 50-12P reduces the harmful effects of dust on the human body during contact with mineral wool;
- Increases water-repellent properties, water resistance and vapor permeability in water-based paints and silicone plasters.

- Precautions for Use
As the shelf life of various mixtures depends on the content of binder and additives, no general advice on their compatibility can be given. Always test the selected concentration of SE 50-12P or mix of emulsions ОE 50-42 and SE 50-12P on the trial sample to determine the optimal amount of material and the suitability for use in a particular case.
- Areas of Application
- Finishing and hydrophobization of various materials, in particular materials from fiberglass and mineral wool products.
- To prevent the formation of fine dust it is recommended to be used together with the emulsion OE 50-42;
- Can be used as an additive in water-based paints.
- Application Methods
- SE 50-12P is applied by spraying together with binder and other additives.
- When application of the emulsion SE 50-12P together with the emulsion OE 50-42 the mixing ratio is one weight part of the emulsion SE 50-12P for 3 - 5 weight parts of the emulsion OE 50-42. The mixture of emulsions is applied by spraying together with binder and other additives.
- Reprocessing of fiberglass and mineral wool products after curing of the emulsion SE 50-12P or mix of emulsions OE 50-42 and SE 50-12P is not recommended.
- The amount of applied emulsion SE 50-12P or mix of emulsions OE 50-42 and SE 50-12P depends on the desired properties of the end product, so no general advice can be given.
- To determine the optimal amount please provide individual tests.
- Normally, the sufficient amount of emulsion SE 50-12P is at least 0,2 % or (0,6 – 1,2) % for mix of emulsions OE 50-42 and SE 50-12P by weight of dry fibrous material.
- In paints and plasters, the product should be added during or at the end of the manufacturing process in an amount of 1,0 to 3,0 wt. %. Individual tests must be performed to determine the required amount and compatibility.
