- Afcona-4598 is the economy version of Afcona – 4595. This is a wetting and dispersing additive for water-based coatings and pigment concentrates. It prevents negative flocculation effects like flooding and floating and improves storage stability.
- It stabilize pigments through effective steric hindrance and electric repulsion. This results in concentrates that have:
- Lower viscosities
- Very stable dispersions
- Good storage stability
- High color strength
- And final coatings which have:
- No flooding or floating
- High color strength
- High gloss
- Good storage stability
- Afcona-4598 is completely water-soluble and does not require neutralization.

Afcona-4598 is recommended for all types of pigments. It is also very suitable for transparent iron oxides.
Note: for optimum dispersion use no resin in the grinding phase
- Addition and Dosage
Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:
TiO2 4 - 5% Other inorganic pigments 8 - 12% Organic pigments 12 - 30% Carbon blacks 50 - 60% Transparent Iron Oxides 10 -15% - Incorporation
Afcona-4598 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.
