- Product Highlights
- Unisil SL 136-157 M reduces capillary water absorption of treated surfaces;
- Impregnation with liquid prevents reduction of heat insulation properties of the material, long resistant to effect of different factors, including alternate freezing-thawing, as well as resistant to ultraviolet and infrared rays, alternate wetting and drying;
- Penetrates deeply into the pores without clogging them, maintaining vapour permeability of the material processed;
- Colorless, does not change the appearance of material treated;
- Non-toxic;
- Soluble in aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, undergoes gelation in the presence of amines, amino alcohols, strong acids and alkalis. Not soluble in water and lower alcohols.

- Product Applications
- Hydrophobization of gypsum board and gypsum blocks;
- Treatment of powder and granular materials to give them hydrophobic properties, improve their flowability and prevent caking;
- For hydrophobization of surfaces that absorb moisture, such as bricks, concrete, natural building materials and ceramics;
- In the production of fire extinguishing powders based on ammonium phosphate.
- Application Methods
Unisil SL 136-157 M is normally used as diluted solution or water emulsion.
At volumetric treatment:- Unisil SL 136-157 M is added into mixing water to gypsum. To achieve sufficiently reduced water absorption, use about (0,1 -0,3) % of the liquid from the amount of dry gypsum.
- The efficiency of Unisil SL 136-157 M depends on the qualitative and quantitative composition of gypsum material, so no precise advice on dosage can be given.
- Always provide preliminary test to determine the optimal amount of liquid Unisil SL 136-157 M.
At surface treatment:- Unisil SL 136-157 M is used after diluted with one or some hydrocarbon solvents such as white spirit, solvent, acetone or ethylmethyl ketone. The norm of dilution: for 1 L of Unisil SL 136-157 M add 10 L of solvent. Diluted solutions can be applied by dipping, spraying or brush. Apply working solution on a dry, clean surface until absorbed, preventing drops. Consumption depends on the porosity of the surface of the processed material.
- Always test selected concentration of liquid on a small material sample to be sure in its suitability.
